Obituary of William E. Baker
Bedford – William Everett Baker, 88, of Bedford, died Friday morning at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital.
Born October 15, 1928 in Springville, he was the son of Everett E. Baker and Minnie Frances Gregory. He was a Veteran of the Navy serving during WWII. He retired as a Die Setter from GM Powertrain. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33, UAW local 440, Voiture #1192 of 40/8, Eagles, Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club, and a Life member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include three daughters, Christina Lee Peter and her husband Thomas, of Odon, Catherine K. Baker of Avoca, and Faye Marie Brown and her husband Bob, of Bedford; four grandsons, Matthew Peter and his wife Sally, of Ohio, Andrew Peter and his wife Danielle, of Bloomington, Kyle Brown and his wife Stacey, of Bedford, and Kurt Brown of Georgia; two granddaughters, Kelly Kern Smith of Bloomfield and Karen Michelle Kern of Bedford; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin (Ben) Baker of Missouri; two sisters, Mary Beavers of Mitchell and Brenda Poore of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bob Baker; and one sister Anita Thompson.
William’s request was to be cremated with no services and the family is honoring those wishes. Contributions can be made in memory of William to the American Legion Gillen Post #33.
