Obituary of Joyce L. Baker

Williams - Joyce L. (Nickless) Baker, 69, of Williams died at 6:32 am on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her residence. Born August 1, 1947 in Bedford she was the daughter of Paul and Helen Jean (Reynolds) Nickless. She married Scotty L. Baker on May 31, 1965 and he survives. She had worked as a nurse on the mother-baby unit at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital and prior to that had also been a school bus driver for many years as well as worked for the welfare department. Joyce was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved to sew, plant flowers, spend time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Scotty of Bedford; five children: Leah Maple and husband David of Orleans, Eric Baker of Williams, Ursula Nash and husband Butch of Mitchell, Adrian Baker of Williams, Jeromy Baker of Williams; eight grandchildren: Brandon Nash and wife Dara, Christian Nash and companion Deidre, Cole Nash, Chandelor Nash, Graham Nash, Cain Hopper, Clay Hopper, Kalyn White; siblings: Barbara Baxter and husband Jim of Williams, Paul Nickless and wife Pat of Westfield, Paula Nickless of Nashville, TN, Tim Nickless of Williams; three nieces: Tammy Baxter, Aimee Harvey, Jamie Nickless; two nephews: Travis Watkins, Shannon Baxter; several great nieces and nephews; and family friend, Jamie Sears. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 14th at the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Steven DeLong officiating.
