Obituary of Herschel Adams

Montgomery, IN Herschel Adams, 90, of Montgomery, IN, died at 12:40 pm on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Waters of Martinsville in Martinsville, IN. Born July 13, 1922 in Roland, KY, he was the son of Edward and Jessie (Shanks) Adams. He married Mae Rose Allison on August 23, 1941 and she preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II and an ironworker with Ironworkers Local #22 of Indianapolis. Survivors include three daughters, Marlena Jordan of Mooresville, IN, and Connie McDonald of Birmingham, AL Teresa Burkhardt and husband, Larry of Edwardsville, IL; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two brothers, Kenny Adams of Linton, IN and Jim Adams of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers, one sister and one great great granddaughter. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery where military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Thursday, February 7th at Day & Carter Mortuary.
