Obituary of Betty L. Roach

Bedford – Betty L. Roach, 89, of Bedford, died at 4:00 am on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at I.U. Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Born November 4, 1926, in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Ora and Minnie (Grey) Watterson. She married Wayne Roach on August 3, 1946 and he preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Mitchell High School with the class of 1945 and was a member of the Southland Church of Christ. She had worked at Reliance Manufacturing in Mitchell and Hoffman’s in Orleans. Survivors include three daughters, Janet Harkness and Vicky Flinn and husband, Dick, all of Bedford, Julie Peterson and husband, Daryl, of Bettendorf, IA; a son, Scotty Roach and wife, Rosanna (Rosie), of Bedford; three granddaughters, Jamie Denny of North Carolina, Jennifer Roach, of Bedford, and Elizabeth Peterson, of IA; four grandsons, Michael Roach and wife, Tara, of Mitchell, Steven Roach, of Bedford, Kevin Roach and wife, Haley, of Rockville, IN, and Matthew Peterson, of IA; four great grandchildren, Cole, Serenity, Zoey and Oliver. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Tracey Roach and twelve siblings. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 20th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bud Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
