Obituary of Gene F. Baker

Bedford Gene F. Baker, 91, of Bedford, died at 3:12 am on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born February 12, 1921 in Washington Co., he was the son of John Ora and Flavia (Flemming) Baker. He married Barbara Jean Webb on May 29, 1954 and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2002. He was a laborer for Robertson Feeds and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the medical corps. He was a member of Dive Christian Church, Gillen Post #33 American Legion and V.F.W. Survivors include two sons, William Gene Baker of Bloomington and Steve Aronson of Bedford; four daughters, Vicky Lynn Beedie and Linda Kay Breedlove both of Bedford, Janet Carter of Heltonville and Sandra Butler of Orleans; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Basil and Nelson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, January 4th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Dive Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
