Obituary of Mary Frances Robbins

Oolitic – Mary Frances Robbins, 97, of Oolitic, died at 9:45 pm on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at her residence. Born November 9, 1918 in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Anthony and Mary (Magnus) Granato. She married Wayne H. Robbins on February 14, 1942 and he preceded her in death on December 28, 1986. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She first worked for the WPA Program. She then worked at Burns City (now Crane) in the late 1930’s as an administrative assistant until she met Wayne. Later she, with her husband, founded Professional Pharmacy and ConvaCare Services working until her retirement in 1999. She was an avid reader and loved her books. She will be remembered for her Italian cooking. Survivors include two sons, Michael Robbins and wife, Candy, Patrick Robbins and wife, Sharon all of Bedford; five grandchildren, Michelle Sarber and husband, Bryan, and Joseph Robbins all of Indianapolis, Kristy Woodward, and Holly Woodward, and husband, Brandon, all of Bedford, Joshua Robbins and wife, Carla, of Oolitic; five great grandsons; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four siblings, Bobby Granato, Ruby Granato, Angela Dillon and Henry Granato. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 5th at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm.
