I just learned of Mike’s passing today. Mike was truly one of the best.
I owned a office supply business for almost twenty years in the Bloomington area. Mike was a loyal customer to us. We missed him after he retired from Star Travel but enjoyed seeing him stop by our office occasionally when he was in Bloomington.
He was fiercy loyal to small local businesses and helped by giving us referrals.
Always a warm smile. Mike was a gentleman and a pleasure to work with.

I just learned of Mike’s passing yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy and the family. Mike was one of my good friends in high school and he was Best Man at my wedding. As Bill Hammer said, we have many, many wonderful memories of the good times we had together. Mike was truly a good and wonderful person. One of the best.

Nancy,
I am so sorry to hear of Mike's death. I knew when I talked to Mike on New Years Day that he was really struggling.
I always enjoyed working with Mike at Jenn-air, and our little accounting group always had fun working together. He was definitely my favorite boss.
I am so glad that Pat Jones, Millie Brown and I got to meet Mike for lunch in Bloomington last summer. I will have a good memory of Mike.
Mike certainly died too soon. I will miss him.

Dear Nancy,
I am so sorry to hear of Mike's death. I saw it in our Bloomington paper this morning and then Tim Deaton forwarded the copy from your Bedford paper this afternoon. I had planned to contact the Bedford paper this afternoon myself to see if there were more details. My day had been very busy out of the house so I was glad Tim had the information sent to me.
You might not remember me but we did meet at the service for Miriam (my cousin) in Royal Center. Actually it was afterwards when we all ate together. My husband, Bob, and I live in Bloomington. I had thought several times that we should have made the effort to get with you and Mike but it just never happened. Same was with my never getting down to see Miriam, once Patty had told me she was in Bedford. Both were my fault. Life gets too busy to do the things we really ought to be doing. Again, our sympathy to you and the rest of Mike's family. I do not have contact information for his brothers.

Mike was a good friend during our high school days with lots of laughs, great times and many cheerful memories. One of our proudest "achievements" was to put sulfuric acid and iron filings in the chemistry room drains during senior week. Result: rotten egg smells throughout the school. Every window in the school was open when we returned to the scene of the crime. Many other stories. I'll remember Doc fondly.
