I am so very saddened to learn of my Uncle Cocky surrendering his earthly being to the graces of our Lords hereafter domain. As a child, he always made me giggle & tormented me with his rambunctious humor. He was the constant watch person of my grandfather & grandmother. We were "step family" but that was never obvious because of the love of family that was shown throughout my life. I was blessed with the honor of this man in my life. To all the family, I offer the most heartfelt condolences. May the peace of our Lord be upon you, may the joy of this man be felt & may we meet again at heaven's gate. To Mike, Deb, JR & Jan, you were a blessing in my life. The barn, chicken coop, smokehouse, fishhatchery, pond, honeysuckle grown on the porch, Papaw's garden, Aunt Marion, wading in the creek, Edith Cecile's horrible driving down the lane, the barbershop on the highway, Lula's squeaky pump by the bedroom window, too many more!! Many hugs, much love.

JR Mike and the entire Holmes Family I have never known anyone so personable and genuine as Mr. Holmes. I know he was Cocky and Harvey to many but to me he was always Mr. as a sign of respect. From the time I first met him in 1966 he had a way of making you feel as if you had always known him. He was the epitome of good, solid Hoosier values. His enthusiasm and zest for family could not be matched. Please accept my deepest condolences.

We were so very sorry to hear of Cocky's passing. We shared so many wonderful and fun times with him and Bobbie. Always laughing and joking. I know his 90th birthday party was a memorable event even though we were unable to attend and share the happy time. Susie, you will miss your sweet uncle and so will we. I am so very sorry to hear this. Cocky was of a generation of gentlemen that are rapidly going away. He was always so sweet and so much fun. I will remember fondly all the fun we had at the Elks and the Legion. My life was blessed by having known him. Fly high Cocky - tell Bobbi and Lee I love them and I miss them. I'm sure they are waiting for you with a band in the wings and the cards warmed up. There is surely a party in Heaven going on.
