No words can take away your pain but I wanted you to know how sorry our whole family is for your loss. He was a wonderful man and I feel honored to have known him for so many years. I know my grandma and grandpa thought alot of him and your entire family. Grandma was very sad to hear the news but was even more sad that she wasn't able to make it up to the visitation. Once again sorry for your loss and you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. Take care of one another.

Maxine and family: Few men have determined with equal greatness to "give the young preacher a chance" as Gene did! His faithfulness to Christ and His church was exquisite and served as a tremendous example to many others. It was a great honor to know him and called him a friend! When last we talked (at Williams during Ken Sils' meeting this past summer) Gene told me, "I'm getting closer to leaving this old world." He was ready. I'm happy he enjoyed his journey in the Lord's service. Mike Davis
