To the family of Bud Keane - I remember Bud well. My husband Walt came to Shields High School in Seymour in 1955 as assistant football coach to Dave Shaw. It was Walt's first job out of college and he joined the two assistants that were already here - Roy Rankin and Bud Keane. What a handsome and talented crew of Football Coaches Seymour had ! And what a great team. They were undefeated an won the South Central Conference that year, in 1955. I can't remember exactly when Bud moved on from Seymour, but they won the conference again in 1957. We had many fond memories of those years. And we remember his red convertible. I believe Bud attended the 50th reunion of that the 1955 team at Seymour in 2005. The Shaws and the Wintins both moved for a time to work at Warren Central in Indianapolis, but we all came back and retired from Seymour. Sadly, my husband Walt passed away this past summer in July. Coach Shaw is now living in Fishers, IN, near his daughter's home. He is in rehab now, recovering from a fractured hip, but he and his family join me in expressing our sympathy for Bud's passing.
