Dearest Suellen and Family:
Chris and I send our love and prayers to each of you through this time. May God watch over you and give you peace.
Chris and I just celebrated our 40th year on the 13th. It seems the longer you love each other the better people you become. Although I didn't know Dennis personally, the smile on your face reflected greatly your love for each other and told me Dennis was -- and is -- your soul mate.
As you pass through grief's pain and loneliness remember that God sends his angels to help us endure and comfort us. The promises we've been given become clear as crystal . . . we can cling to them, count on them, and know they are sure. The pain of Dennis' passing will become easier to bear over time. Share his story, wake up each morning and imagine Dennis doing the work he loved and the smile that greeted you as he walked through the front door. Remember that the first person he looked for, when he came home, was you.
Dennis always will be as close as your heart. Never doubt that you always have reason to look forward to the day you are called home because your husband -- your soul mate -- is standing next to Jesus Christ, waiting with open arms to welcome his wife home.
Be strong, Suellen. The best is yet to come.

My prayers go out to the family. Dennis was one of the nicest and funniest guys I ever knew. I was his nurse at GM for 30 years. He would tell me the tales of adventures that he and my cousin Greg would get into as teenagers and have me in tears. When my husband died he offered to help get my roof fixed and yard mowed and those things meant a lot. Dennis loved his family and was never prouder then when he and Suellen became parents.

Our sincere condolences to the family: Suellen, Allyson, Ryan. Dennis was a fighter all the way, and I know he loved life. He was one of my best friends of all times and a great cousin. We had many good times in Jones Mills as kids, shooting the BB gun at Mike Matlock and Larry, raiding aunt Gen's fridge late at night and never getting caught, and building tree houses where ever we could find a tree sturdy enough to hold the weight. Dennis would collect old nails and make his dad take him to places where he could scavage scrap wood. We roamed the woods behind the old Jones Mills home and walked the railroad tracks as often as possible all the time trying not to get caught. He was a good guy and if he liked you he would take up for you in both good times and not so good times. I always felt like I was a part of the family since I spent so much time with them in my early years due to my mothers illness. I know this is a time of grief and we do not get over things like this, we just move on. So, once the healing of your souls begin, remember the good times, the fun times, the comical times and focus on them. God Bless.
