Obituary of Walter J. Kaffenberger

Bedford Walter J. Kaffenberger, 86, of Lincoln Ave., Bedford, died at 8:15 am on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at Mitchell Manor in Mitchell, IN. Born December 24, 1920 in Evansville, IN, he was the son Frank Kaffenberger and Louise (Hoehn) Kaffenberger. He married Dorisan Andreae and she preceded him in death on September 10, 1996. He retired from NAD CRANE and was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Bedford and the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Survivors include one daughter, Winifred Mae Lebo and her husband, Steve of Falls Church, VA; one son, Walter J. (Joe) Kaffenberger and his wife, Patricia of Omaha, NE; one grandson and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorisan and one daughter, Connie Kaffenberger. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, October 3rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Father Rick Eldred officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by members of the American Legion Gillen Post #33. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 2nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary with a Rosary Service being conducted at 7:30 pm.
