I worked with Marty for 30 years at GM as his nurse and two favorite memories come to mind. The first one was when we started the GM Powerbrains team for the inaugural Brain Games sponsored by the Lawrence County Museum. He and Jim Burch were very competitive and selected our team for their different areas of knowledge and we made it all the way to the finals where we lost by one point "to a group of preachers!" The second was planning the retirement party for our co-worker Jim Grubb and we filmed a movie on set at Susie Craig's house depicting Jim's new retirement gig of being a landscaper. Susie would succumb to ALS two years and one-half years prior to Marty. He was such a blessing to be around and always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye as he said, "Come here Julie I've got a story for you!"
