Obituary of Phyllis Maxine May

Bedford –Phyllis Maxine (Turner) May, 87, of Bedford, died at 11:35 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Stonebridge Health Campus. Born December 16, 1927 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Earl and Dorothy (Lewis) Turner. She married Bernard May on June 14, 1947 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2008. She was homemaker and a member of the Hillcrest Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Michael L. May and wife Margit, of Bedford; a sister, Sue Cheek of Bedford; three grandchildren, Tiffany Collingsworth and husband, Shane, of Mitchell, Bernard M. May and wife, Jessyka, of Princeton and Robert L. May and wife, Tina, of Oklahoma and nine great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Richard, Raymond, Kenneth and Gerald Turner; a sister, Jeanette Cobb. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 22nd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Charlie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, August 22nd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
