Obituary of Edna Lucille Swigler

Bedford – Edna Lucille Arnold Swigler, 95, of Bedford, died at 12:29 am on Monday, May 25, 2015 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospital. Born August 18, 1919 in Mitchell, IN, she was the daughter of Vernon and Eva (Carroll) Arnold. She married Edward C. Swigler on April 15, 1939 and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2011 after seventy-one years of marriage. She was a manager for the Diana Shop in Bloomington and a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Larry Michael Swigler and wife, Loretta, of Crane, IN; a daughter, Peggy Dorsett of Bedford; eight grandchildren, Sherre Zink of Bedford, Carole Cummings, Billie Tumey, Randy Dorsett and John Swigler all of Bedford, Larry Swigler of Crane, IN, Laura Lawson of Bloomington and Kirstin Stickney and husband, Jason, of Carmel; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a brother, John Arnold and a sister, Doris Pierce both of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, Tammy Hurley; three brothers, Robert, Frank and Dale Arnold; two sisters, Judith Anne Arnold and Juanita Callahan. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, May 28th at Dive Cemetery with Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow.
