I always remembered Jason's birthday is on October 30th. He would have been 50 years old today. He was my first friend and I will never forget him. I have so many wonderful childhood memories of our adventures in the seventies I will always cherish. Happy birthday buddy and God bless you. I am shocked and saddened to hear of Jason's death! I met Jason online when I began the purchase from him of an aircraft engine he had advertised on Barnstormer's. I was shocked when I read that Jason was gone. He and my son, Danny Irwin Jr grew up playing Cops or Army in our old rickety tree house (no girls allowed). My thoughts and prayers are with Vicky and Gary and Danielle and all his loved ones. How does a mother cope with losing her son? I can't begin to imagine the pain. Vicky, you are in my heart. Our paths only crossed a few times at airshows when I was demo flying the Maverick Flying Car and when he visited ITEC. As a test pilot, we had like minds in aviation and Jason was a joy to talk to and spend time with. Jason was pure joy and had an incredible spirit about him. Will miss his smile and passion for aviation.

My thoughts are with you all. I did not know Jason well, but knew him to be a great guy. I always enjoyed my interactions with him. The last time I saw him we were both in a hurry, so it was just a mutual smile and nod. His smile always conveyed so much about how passionate he was about life. Funny, I can't remember what had me so rushed that I didn't take the time to speak with him that day - but I will never forget that smile. Peace be with his children and new bride.
