Obituary of Allen L. Harp

Oolitic Allen L. Harp, retired Senior Master Sergeant, 71, of 109 Lafayette Ave., Oolitic, IN, died at 5:30 pm on Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. Born September 29, 1935 in Martin Co., he was the son of E. Ward and Mary M. (Baker) Harp. He married Sara Robertson on September 12, 1953 and she survives. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the Air Force after serving for twenty-six years, including one year in Viet Nam. He was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church, American Legion Gillen Post #33, V.F.W. and the Air Force Sergeants Assoc. Surviving with his wife, Sara, is one daughter, Cynthia Cindy Jones and her husband, Douglas of Arkansas; one son, Gregory Harp and his wife, Maggie of Minnesota; five grandchildren, Heather Teague of North Carolina, Weston Jones of Arkansas, Libbey, Sara and Eric Harp all of Minnesota; one brother, George W. Harp and his wife, Jane, of East Oolitic; one sister, Marie Medley and her husband, William Bill of Williams; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ruby Bray. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, June 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Paul Shelton and Pastor Wes Rainey officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
