Obituary of Ellis Harry Handley

Ellis Harry (Arkie) Handley, 88, of Bedford passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Stonebridge Health Campus. He was born June 8th, 1922 in Knobel, Arkansas to the late Harry and Rosa (Newton) Handley. On June 17, 1959 Arkie married Louise Kinder and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church. Arkie had a lifelong love of music and was well known for playing the harmonica. A passion he pursued even as his health was failing. Surviving with his wife, Louise; is daughter, Kay Thimling and husband Darrell of Bedford, son, Terry Kinder and wife Dee of Omaha, Nebraska; Keith Kinder and wife Lisa of Bloomington; and daughter Delores Odell of Kentucky. Eight grandchildren; Shannon Barger, Tanner Thimling, Jenny Bowes, Nikki Delgado, Laura Wanchic, Lisa Mason, Joe Kinder and Lindsey Kinder. There were thirteen great grandchildren. Funeral Information Funeral services will be at Day & Carter Mortuary on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am until the hour of the service on Friday at the mortuary. Military rites will be accorded by Gillen Post 33.
