Obituary of Stephen Edwards Jones

Bedford Stephen Edwards Jones, 72, of Bedford, died at 12:52 am on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Born November 25, 1939 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Edward W. and Ruth E. (Edwards) Jones. He was the owner and principal broker at Jones & Jones Agency. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying. He was a member of Kiwanis, N.R.A., 4-H and R.O.T.C. at Culver Military Academy. He served as county commissioner and was instrumental in the restoration and saving of the Williams covered bridge by having it placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Survivors include children, Jeff Jones and wife, Veronika, and Trent Jones all of Bloomington, Stephanie Jones Cassidy of Plainfield, Elizabeth (Liz) Jones and her fiance, Deren Bagsby of Indianapolis, Tania Jones and Michelle Jones both of Bloomington; a grandchild, Kelsie Cassidy of Plainfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild, Kaden Cassidy. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 15th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday, December 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
