Obituary of Violet L. Jones

Bedford Violet L. Jones, 86, of 1902 19th Street, Bedford, died at 8:15 am on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at the Washington Nursing Center in Washington, IN. Born March 5, 1924 in Lawrence Co., she was the daughter of Reese and Aileen (Eisenmenger) Jones. She married Frank Neal and he preceded her in death in 1978. She later married Van Bridwell and he died in 2003. She then married Thomas Jones and he survives. She was a waitress for several area restaurants, and worked as a veterans officer, library aid and the local cab co. Survivors include her husband, Thomas, of Bedford; a daughter, Jacqueline Dalton and husband, Paul of Washington, IN; a son, Michael W. Neal and wife, Karen of Texas; a step-daughter, Avis Ramsey and husband, Harry of Bedford; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; one brother, Wayne Jones and wife, Sue of Bedford; a sister, Phyllis Harris and husband, Freddie of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, three brothers, Abbey, Robert and Reese, Jr.; four sisters, Maxine, Mamie, Dorothy and Edith; two sons, Robert Frank (Rock) Neal and Ralph D. Neal; a step-son, William Neal and his wife, Mae. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 12th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bradley Rainey officiating. Burial will follow in the Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation is from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, June 12th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
