Obituary of Wilma Joan Graves

Henderson, KY Wilma Joan (Neely) Graves, 77, passed away at 10:15 pm on December 7, 2010 in Henderson, KY at the St. Anthonys Hospice Care Center. She went to be with her Lord surrounded by her loving family. She fought a courageous fight against cancer and she blessed the lives of many who took care of her in her final days on earth. Joan was born in Springville, IN on November 4, 1933 to Walter and Della Neely. She was a 1951 graduate of Oolitic High School. She married Gayle Graves on December 15, 1951. She was an active member and Leader in Christian Womens Club and Bible Study Fellowship while living in Florida, Wisconsin, Henderson, KY. She is a member of the Bethel Temple Church in Evansville, IN. Joan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 59 years, Gayle Graves of Henderson, KY. One daughter, Pam (Keith) Glover of Evansville, IN, two sons, Steve (Debbie) Graves of Corydon, KY and Jeff Graves of Murray, KY, nine grandchildren; Stephanie (Jonathan) Pounders of Evansville, IN, Jessica (Nick) Mason of Mt. Vernon, IN, Brian Graves of Henderson, KY, Katherine, Glover of Evansville, IN, Jennifer Glover, of Evansville, IN, Mark Glover of Evansville, IN, Aimee Graves of Murray, KY Nathan Graves of Murray, KY, Roger Graves of Murray, KY, one sister Paulette (Bill) Gilbert of Springville, IN, three brothers, Bob (Judy) Neely of Mitchell, IN, Charles (Akko)Neely of Gulf Shores, AL, Roger (Janice) Neely of Oolitic, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Norma Phillips. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 10, 2010 from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Schwamback officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the mortuary.
