Obituary of Roberta E. Baker

Bedford- Roberta E. Baker, 86, of Bedford went to be with the Lord at 1:56 PM on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born January 7, 1925 in Martin County she was the daughter of Grover and Ina (Martin) Chastain. She married Bill D. Baker on October 4, 1952 and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Chapel Church in Bedford. Survivors include: one son: Jay D. Baker of Bedford; one daughter: Denise Dillman and husband Jay of Bedford; one brother Oliver (Pick) Chastain of Bedford; four grandchildren: Whitney and Garrett Baker, Haley (Bobby) Hatfield, and Molly Dillman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers: John, Leland, and Jasper, two sisters Mildred Borton, and Enid Piper. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Jim McDowell and Bro. Max Abel officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, January 10th and from 1:00 PM until the service hour on Tuesday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
