Obituary of Edith Godsey

Bedford Edith Godsey, 85, of 413 Springville-Judah Road, Springville, died at 4:04 am on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born March 10, 1920 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Rev. Earl and Mellie (Henderson) Anderson. She married Hobert T. Godsey on November 21, 1936 and he died June 27, 2003. She was a homemaker and a member of the Springville Trinity Pentecostal Mission Church. Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Phillips and her husband, Rev. Wendell Phillips of Springville; three sons, Earl Leroy Godsey and his wife, Mary, James H. Godsey and his wife, Roseanna, Paul W. Godsey and his wife, LuAnn all of Springville; thirteen grandchildren, Ken Phillips and his wife, Gayla, Rev. Alan Phillips and his wife, Marilyn, Kathy Wheeler, Kay Cooper and her husband, Gary, Rev. Doug Phillips and his wife, Lori, Randy Godsey, Mark Godsey and his wife, Janet, Scott Godsey and his wife, Cheryl, Kristi Rayhill and her husband, Chad, Diana Bex and her husband Aaron, Barbara Godsey and Craig Godsey and his wife, Autumn; Susan Abel and her husband, Mike twenty-seven great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; one brother, Chester Anderson of Springville and one sister, Wanda Reuter of Springville. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Donald E. Godsey; one grandson, Donald W. Godsey; one brother, Bill Anderson; four sisters, Wilma Baker, Georgia Phillips, Betty Rollins and Helen Blake. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 3rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Alan Phillips and Pastor Doug Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, July 2nd and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Sunday, July 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
