Obituary of Rumi Setsuko Arthur

Bargersville Rumi Setsuko Arthur, 82 of Bargersville, IN, wife of John P. Arthur, passed gently on May 29, 2008. Born April 4, 1926 in Nakamoshima, Wakayashi, Japan. She left her family and friends to marry John on September 9, 1946 in Yokohama, Japan. Rumi has two sisters who live in Japan. Her two brothers preceded her in death. Rumi was a wonderful wife and mother of four daughters. While in Japan, she attended Kyoto University until her marriage. She worked at the RCA Plant and Naval Avionics in Indianapolis. She spent her retirement years traveling with John. All of her daughters are living, Lillie Mae (Terry) Cockerham of Norman, IN, Betty Ann (Richard) Howard of Tucson, AZ, May Jane (Michael) Case of Bloomington, IN, Paula L. (Kenneth) Justice of Bargersville, IN. She has thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren with two on the way. Her friend throughout her years in Indiana is Susie Chenault. Funeral Information Services will be conducted by her minister, Roger Gifford from the First Christian Church in Bargersville and family members at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Liberty Church in Norman, IN with burial to follow in the Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 11:30 am on Tuesday at the church. View Video Tribute
