Obituary of David Gilliland

Avita Springs, LA David Gilliland, 52, of Avita Springs, LA, formerly of Bedford, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 at his residence. Born July 31, 1960 in Bedford, he was the son of Jesse P. and Patsy P. (Tincher) Gilliland. He married Donna Mayo and she survives. He was employed in drywall construction and attended the Bedford Baptist Temple as a child. Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Louisiana; his mother, Patsy Gilliland of Bedford; a son, Joseph Gilliland of Texas; his mother, Bonnie Glass of TX; a daughter, Tiffany Gilliland-Franklin of Bedford; a step-daughter, Katie Jones of Louisiana; a grandson, Anthony Jones, who lived in the home; four grandchildren, Jaylie M. Sams and Bryar Franklin both of Bedford, Jerimiah and William Channey both of Louisiana; two sisters, Susie York of Bedford and Mary Paul and husband, Jeff of Oolitic; a brother, Jesse D. Bubba Gilliland and wife, Mary Lou of Bedford; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Gilliland. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, January 19th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
