Obituary of Verlin James Gill

Bedford-Verlin James (Jim) Gill, 50, of 1721 27th Street died at 7:00am on Friday, June 13, 2008 at his residence of natural causes. Born January 10, 1958 he was the son of Jim and Barbara (Medlock) Gill. He worked for Visteon for 22 years. He attended the Stone Gate Faith Center. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1976-1980. He was a member of the American Legion Cecil Martin Post #250, member of the Council of the Southern Cherokee Nation, DAV Chapter Lt. Colonel C. Bailey #2 and the IUE/CWS Local #907. Survivors include his fiance: Melissia Tackett of Bedford; two daughters: Ashley Elizabeth Voris-Lemke of Bloomington, and Keisha Ann Gill of Bedford; three brothers: Brent Gill and his wife Marina of Bedford, Jack Scott Gill of Sunman, IN, Jeff Richard Gill and his wife Gerri of Sunman, IN; one sister: Jean Elizabeth Elza of North Vernon, IN; nieces and nephews: Keenan Shane Gill of Bloomington, Trevor Floyd Gill of Louisville, Bryce Bennett Gill of Bluffton, SC, Ronald Scott Gill and Brooke Gill both of Sunman, IN, Dahkota Gill of North Vernon, Dalton & Kayla Gill of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew: Anthony James Gill. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, June 16th from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery with military rites accorded by the American Legion Cecil Martin Post #259. Friends may call on Sunday, June 15th from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Day & Carter Mortuary.
