Obituary of Robert E. Gehring
Bedford Robert E. Gehring, 86, of 2410 29th Street, Bedford, died at 6:45 am on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born July 21, 1923 in Williams, IN, he was the son of Willie O. and Mable (Mitchell) Gehring. He married Emma Cummings on June 3, 1948 and she survives. He was the self-employed owner of Gehring Music. He was a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post #33 of Bedford, the Elks Lodge and the V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Emma, of Bedford; a daughter, Donna Gehring Blackburn and husband, Larry of Bedford; his dog and best friend, Tina Marie; sister-in-law, Louise Klumpp of Vincennes; brother-in-law, John Hill of Bedford; nieces and nephews, Mary and Dana Beavers of Medora, Doug Klumpp and wife Lorie of Vincennes and Jim Hill of Leesville; grandchildren, Lorie Mollet and husband, Scott, Darin Blackburn, Jamie Blackburn and wife, Sue, Alison Easton and husband, Matt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Hill. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Jack Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
