Obituary of Jack Alfred Gary

Mitchell Jack Alfred Gary, 75, a former North Country native, residing for the past twenty-one years in Mitchell, IN, passed away Sunday February 22nd at home under the loving care of his family. Born December 5, 1933 in Stockholm, NY to Glenwood and Lixina (Mere) Gary. He attended Parishville-Hopkinton Central School and served in the Army from 1957 thru 1962. He married Rita M. (Sochia) Gary on May 30, 1959. He was employed with General Motors for thirty years, retiring in 1994 at the Bedford, IN plant. He enjoyed woodworking, prospecting and loved the outdoors. He loved the west and wintered in Yuma, AZ. Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Rita M. Gary; three daughters, Tammy J. Gary and companion, Kimberly Kielmeier, Patricia M. Hughes and her husband, Harry all of Mitchell, Jacqueline M. Gary and companion, Benjamin Gladding of Massena, NY; one son, Michael J. Gary and his wife, Jennifer of Chesapeake, VA; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Freda Frary, Bonnie Henderson and Mitzi Spizzirri; one brother, Richard Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Funeral Information A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until the hour of service. A memorial service will be conducted in New York in the spring. Donations Information .
