Obituary of Maxine H. Johnson

Maxine H. (King) Johnson passed away on September 22, 2012 at Johnson Christian Village. She was one week shy of her 97th birthday. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Russell, as well as her premature born son Terry Russell. Her parents Frank and Cora King and sisters, Virginia Brooks King and Mary (Joe) Boarman also preceded her in death. Maxine had lived her entire life between Oolitic and Bedford. She spent 26 winters in North Fort Myers, FL, and her last two years were spent at Johnson Christian Village. She was a 56 year member of Bedford First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for a number of years. She worked at M. Fine and Sons for 46 years. Surviving Maxine is a son, Tracy (Isabel); grandchildren, Ann (Lucas Wilson), Jean and Russell as well as nieces and nephews Mary Jo (Jim) Eggers, Penny (Bob) Shope, Mark Boarman, Lisa (Tom) Freije and Jerry (Jane) Rilly. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Johnson Christian Village for their love and care. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the Cresthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
