Obituary of Dorothy Armstrong

Bedford Dorothy Armstrong, 87, of Bedford, died at 6:15 pm on Friday, May 16, 2008 at Westview Nursing and Rehab. Center in Bedford. Born December 2, 1920 in Dugger, IN, she was the daughter of Robert and Orzella (Rogers) Holtsclaw. She first married Chester Patton and he preceded her in death. She later married Harry Armstrong and he preceded her in death in 1973. She retired from Essex in Mitchell and had worked at NWSC Crane, RCA, Hobbys Inn and M. Fine and Sons. She was a member of the Leesville Eastern Star, the ladies auxiliary of the Eagles, American Legion Gillen Post #33 and several bowling leagues. Survivors include six children, Pauline Lenhart of Terre Haute, Linda Wilson of Plainfield, Ronnie Patton of Oolitic, Sharon Harper of Bloomington, Dorothy Ollivier of Toledo, OH and Chester Patton of Indianapolis; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Holtsclaw of Oolitic and Lexie Holtsclaw of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one son, Vernon Patton; three brothers, James, Robert and Ernie Holtsclaw; one sister, Mary Price. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Dive Cemetery.
