Obituary of Mildred Fortner

Bedford Mildred Fortner, 93, a resident of the Hospitality House in Bedford, formerly of Avoca, died at 11:40 am on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at her residence. Born July 15, 1913 in Martin Co., IN, she was the daughter of Thomas and Ethel (Davis) Fortner. She was a retired bookkeeper for the A & P Stores in Bedford and Bloomington and was a member of the Avoca Baptist Church. Survivors include one sister, Hildred Cobb of Tucson, AZ; two sisters-in-law, Alice Fortner of Bedford and Esther Fortner of Orlando, FL; two nieces, Donna Roberts of Bedford and Gale Acton of Seymour; two nephews, Michael Fortner of Bedford and Tom Cobb of Rhode Island; great nephews, Stephen Roberts, Shannon Fortner, Scott Fortner all of Bedford and Matthew Geyer of Iowa; one great niece, Amanda Geyer of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernest and Bob Fortner. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 11th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Kirkman and Rev. Kyle Witmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
