Obituary of Robert D. Foddrill

Mitchell Robert D. Foddrill, 78, of 1985 Dixie Hwy., Mitchell, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus at 1:05 am on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford. Born February 27, 1931 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Ishmael and Lena (Jones) Foddrill. He married Hope Jonell Franklin on May 29, 1953 and she survives. He retired as a foreman at Carpenter Body Works in 1982 after thirty-five years and was a member of the Tunnel Hill Pentecostal Church in Owensburg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Surviving is his wife, Hope Jonell of Mitchell; a daughter, Debra L. Miller and husband, Mark of Oolitic; a son, Dale Foddrill of Mitchell; grandchildren, Nathan and Zachary Foddrill, Vanessa Miller; great grandchildren, Matthew, Hailey, Landon and Alicia Foddrill; a brother, Kenny Foddrill and wife, Pat of Bedford; a sister, Phyllis Connell and husband, Bob of Mitchell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and Bill. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bruce Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
