Obituary of Darrell E. Flynn

Bedford Darrell E. Pete Flynn, 80, of 2323 H Street, Bedford, died at 2:40 am on Monday, January 03, 2011 at his residence. Born July 13, 1930 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Floyd and Sarah (Wright) Flynn. He married Lois Todd on July 12, 1952 and she survives. He was a minister for over forty years and served as the pastor at Paynetown Pentecostal Church for over ten years. He was retired from NWSC Crane and a traveling evangelist for thirty years. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army where he received a purple heart. Survivors include his wife, Lois, of Bedford; a son, David Flynn and wife, Patricia of Springville; two daughters, Kathy Arthur and husband, Ricky of Bloomington, Lisa Flynn Sallade and husband, George Chris of Bedford; grandchildren, Zachary Flynn and fiancee, Amanda Sanders and Ashley Flynn and fiance, Tyson Shields, Jarrod Sallade, Lauren Skirvin and husband, Jimmy, Joshua Arthur and wife, Crystal, great grandchild, Cashlynn Skirvin; two sisters, Louise Tuke Page of Springville, Carole Baker of Bedford and Betty Veatch of Bloomfield; a brother, Robert Flynn and wife, Phyllis of Hemlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Benny, George and Harold Flynn; three sisters, Irene Flynn, Madeline Thompson and Helen Jones; a grandson, Ricky Lee Arthur, Jr. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, January 7th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Bro. Danny Morris officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery in Kirksville, IN with military rites accorded at the graveside. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
