Odell Sharkey Fleetwood Odell Sharkey Fleetwood, 92, of Bedford, died at 12:15 am on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born May 21, 1915 in Jackson Co., he was the son of James and Isis Fleetwood. He married Mary A. Day on December 24, 1942. She preceded him in death on August 11, 1998. He retired as a supervisor at NSWC CRANE and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WW II. He was a graduate of Bedford High School Class of 1936, a member of the Free Methodist Church in Bedford, the Gillen Post #33 American Legion in Bedford and the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM where he had received his fifty year pin. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include: several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law and his special friend, Irene Piper of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Alice; one sister, Norma Koehler; three brothers, John O. Fleetwood, James (in infancy) and Otis Fleetwood (as a toddler). Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 5th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Dave Colgan and Pastor Reed Beard officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, January 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion.
