Obituary of Fern Fitzgerald

Bedford Fern Fitzgerald, 86, a resident of the Bliss House in Bedford, died at 11:50 pm on Monday, September 4, 2006 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born January 17, 1920 in Williams, IN, she was the daughter of Dennis and Della Mae (Sheetz) Mayfield. She married William Fitzgerald on May 6, 1961 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1988. She retired from General Motors in 1979 after thirty years as a production worker. Survivors include two step-sons, Vic Fitzgerald of Bedford and William Michael Fitzgerald of Long Beach, CA; two step-daughters, Jennifer Moors of Bell Flower, CA and Victoria Fitzgerald of Long Beach, CA; nine step-grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; one brother, Beryl Mayfield of Ellettsville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, one brother, Forrest Glenn Mayfield; two sisters, Berniece Mayfield and Lorene Holsapple. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, September 8th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 7th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
