Roy G. (Spike) Evans Roy G. (Spike) Evans, 101, died at 5:20 P.M. Friday, December 7th at Stone Bridge Care Facility.Roy was born in Bedford, IN on December 10, 1905 to Frank and Magdalene (Horn) Evans. Roys wife of 65 years, Martha Bernice (Dustin) Evans preceded him in death in 1993.Roy was a member of the Faith Mission Church and has served as a board member over the years. He was a fireman for the Bedford Fire Department from 1941 until 1951; he served several areas in Lawrence County with ice delivery service from 1935 until 1948; founded Bedford Stone Service in 1947 and was active in the limestone business until his retirement in 1969. He founded Evans Quarries with his two sons, Eddie and Larry in 1964 and was active until 1995.He is survived by his two daughters: Iris Riggs and her husband, Don of Greenwood, IN and Sondra Evans of Bedford, IN; one son: Larry Evans and his wife, Sarah of Bedford, IN; one daughter-in-law: Mary Evans of Bedford, IN.Also surviving are 15 grandchildren: Susie (Evans) Kern; Judy (Evans) Cessna, Gary Evans, Bill Evans, John Evans, Jenny (Evans) Semssarzadeh, Karla (Riggs) Norton, Kathy (Riggs) Sorenson, Karen (Evans) Clark, Debbie (Evans) Wick, Stephen Evans, Stephanie (Evans) Lintemuth, Jackie (Evans) Smith, Trent Haines and Trish (Haines) Fields and 34 great grandchildren: Manessa Kern, Jackson Kern, Kylene Kern, Diane Cessna, Phillip Cessna, Emily Cessna, Kevin Cessna, Chris Evans, Amanda Evans, Winter Evans, Chloe Evans, Dakota Evans, Damian Evans, Sierra Evans, Maryam Semssarzadeh, Ali Semssarzadeh, Amir Semssarzadeh, Valerie Norton, Jonathan Norton, Andrew Sorenson, Emily Sorenson, Mary Clark, Laura Wick, Emily Wick, Andrew Wick, Anna Wick, Colsen Evans, Avarie Evans, Sarah Lintemuth, Ellen Lintemuth, Christopher Blaeholder, Erik Smith, Emaleigh Haines, and Isabell Haines. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son Gary and son Eddie who passed away April 2006; four sisters: Clara (Evans) Dyer, Helen (Evans) Henderson, Mary Elizabeth (Evans) Kern and Margaret (Evans) Drehoble; one brother: Roscoe Wayne Evans. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 12th at the Faith Mission Church, 1817 26th Street, with Rev. Leonard Sankey officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Day & Carter Mortuary on Tuesday, December 11th from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and at the church on Wednesday, December 11th from 9:00 A.M. until the service hour.
