Obituary of Harry E. Armstrong

Bedford Harry E. Armstrong, 76, of 2427 Washington Ave., Bedford, died at 5:45 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born May 29, 1928 in Bedford, he was the son of Harry G. and Thelma (Link) Armstrong. He married Nancy L. Brown and she preceded him in death. He later married Wilma J. Hall McAfee and she also preceded him in death. He then married Ruth Ann Ritter Brown on October 6, 1990 and she survives. In 1987 he retired from the Chrysler Casting Plant in Kokomo, IN after thirty years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as a fireman during WW II and was a member of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church in Bedford and enjoyed woodworking, wood carving, being outdoors and working with his flower gardens. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving with his wife, Ruth Ann of Bedford are five daughters, Trudy Fouch and her husband, Dale of Kokomo, Susan Winchester of Kokomo, Sherry Myers and her husband, John of Ellettsville, Diana Isley and her husband, Bill of Kokomo and Tamara (T.J.) Aguilar of Ft. Meyers, FL; two sons, Michael Armstrong and his wife, Irene of Lemoore, CA and Gabriel Valentine of Trinity, NC; three step-sons, Brad Brown of Bedford, Mark Brown and his wife, Sammy of Bloomington and Tracy Brown and his wife, Kim of Bedford; eighteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, two brothers, Jack and Richard Armstrong and one sister, Marcella Harrell. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 30th at the New Hope Community Church on Hwy 50 E. in Bedford with Rev. Doug Martin officiating. Entombment will follow in Cresthaven Mausoleum. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, April 29th at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday at the New Hope Community Church.
