Obituary of Spencer E. Ellis

Bedford Spencer E. Ellis, 73, of 1424 17th Street, Bedford, IN, died at 5:05 am on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center. Born May 4 1936 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Homer and Ruth (Heskitt) Ellis. He married Suzanne Alexander on December 8, 1990 and she survives. He was a retired inspector for Otis Elevator in Bloomington and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He attended Gulletts Creek Baptist Church in Needmore. Surviving with his wife, Suzanne of Bedford is his step-mother who raised him, Donna Mizer Ellis of Colchester, VT; a step-daughter, Sarah Hassler of Mitchell; a sister, Martha Harris of Toledo, OH; a brother, Tim Ellis of Colchester, VT; two nieces and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 7th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Knott Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 6th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
