Obituary of Violet Duncan

Bedford Violet Duncan, 88, of Bedford, died November 2, 2004 in Camby, IN. Born May 7, 1916 in Dubois County, IN, she was the daughter of Emmett and Kate (Ellis) Owen. She married Merle (Hap) Franklin and he preceded her in death. She later married Jack Duncan and he also preceded her in death. She retired from NSWC CRANE and was a member of the Englewood Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Kathy Taylor and her husband, Lyman of Camby, IN, Sherry Lindsey and her husband, Willard and Gay Ann Pelfree and her husband, Donnie all of Bedford and Sue Callahan and her husband, Jim of Odon, IN; seventeen grandchildren, Merle Callahan of Loogootee, Terry Callahan of Slidell, LA, Jama Scherer of Evansville, Jan Pahmeier and Richard Pahmeier both of Bedford, Gordon Pahmeier of Wisconsin, Vickie Lee of Bedford, Toni Wood of Arkansas, Charmaine Caldwell of Elizabeth, IN, Tracy Kestler of Louisville, KY, Rennah White of Bedford, Tammera Chandler of Bedford, Angela Cox of Bloomington, Melissa Taylor of Camby, Lyman Taylor, III and Jason Taylor both of Monrovia; twenty-nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchild; two sisters, Vivian Chastain and Ruth Johnson both of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents and both husbands, three brothers, Russell, Farrell and John Owen; one sister, Jane McPike; one granddaughter, Rita Thompson and one great granddaughter, Jana Lynn Thompson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 6th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry and Pastor Lyman Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery in Avoca. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 5th at the Day & Carter Mortuary
