Obituary of George C. Arbuckle

Bedford George C. (Tim) Arbuckle, 76, of Bedford, passed away at 11:30 pm on Monday, June 14, 2010 at his residence. Born July 15, 1933 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of James Clarence and Pauline (Rodler) Arbuckle. He married Dorothy Morgan in 1982 and she survives. He was a well-known subsistence sportsman, lifetime member of the Bedford Boat and Sportsmans Club and Operating Engineers Local # 181. He spent most of his professional life operating construction cranes all over the world, as far away as Australia. He retired in 1993. His leisure times were spent on the White River and Monroe Reservoir and in the woods with family and friends. He was an avid sportsman and true provider in the pioneer sense of the word and passed his skills on to many who considered him friend, father and mentor. George is survived by Dorothy Sue Arbuckle, his wife of twenty-eight years; daughters, Susan Cox and husband, Greg of Bedford, June Hawkins of Georgia and Lynn Fredericks and husband, Ed of Anderson, IN; a step-son, Walter Emmons and wife, Tina of Oolitic; a brother, Ronnie Arbuckle and wife, Linda of Bedford; four grandchildren, Timothy Hawkins, Rebekah Vasquez, Maggie Fredericks and Erika Lewis; three step-grandchildren, Cassie, Jessica and Andrew Emmons; eight great grandchildren, Garret, Alysa, Olivia, Cody Jane, Isaac, Gabriel, Cassandra and Raine. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Donnie, Steve and Jimmy Arbuckle (who was his twin); four sisters, Mary Potter, Jean Walls, Jane Fiddler and Peggy Tumey. Funeral Information Per his wishes, George will be cremated and his ashes interred in his family plot with his twin brother, Jimmy. A private memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family wishes to thank Hoosier Uplands Hospice for their loving care of George in his final days.
