Obituary of Maggie Ellen Dixon

Ft. Ritner Maggie Ellen (Wesner) Dixon, 79, of Ft. Ritner, IN, died at 12:41 am on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born April 19, 1925 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Anthony and Lena (Lockman) Wesner. She married Winford Dixon on July 21, 1945 and he survives. She was employed as Rosie the Riveter during WW II at Shirley Cabinet Co. in Indianapolis where she assembled Curtis Com. C-46 airplanes. She later was a librarian assistant at Tunnelton High School and Bedford High School. She was a member of the Ft. Ritner United Methodist Church, Ladies Auxiliary of Gillen Post #33 American Legion and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Winford of Ft. Ritner; one son, Marty Dixon of Hartford, CT; one daughter, Crystal Curren and her fiance Mike Fidler of Bedford; grandchildren, Anna (Green) Gates and her husband, Nick of Bloomfield, April Dixon of Jupiter, FL, Lensey Dixon and Danon Dixon both of Hartford, CT; one brother, James Wesner and his wife, Joanne of Bedford; nieces and nephews, Alan Wesner, Amber Arthur, Angela Bond all of Bedford; Gatha Dorsey and Rex Wesner both of Indianapolis; Roger Dixon, Virginia Ross and Linda Petro all of Columbus, Mike and Kenny Dixon both of Florida; her caregiver, Connie Mazer of Bedford. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carrol Wesner and one sister, Violet Gibson. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 16th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Rob Kirts officiating. Burial will follow in Dixon Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 15th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
