Obituary of Robert M. Dixon

Bedford Robert M. Dixon, 77, of 2012 G Street, Bedford, died unexpectedly at 5:11 pm on Friday, February 25, 2005 at Dunn Memorial Hospital. Born February 6, 1928 in West Baden, IN, he was the son of Marvin C. Dixon and Ruby (Leffler) Dixon. He married Joanna S. Cox on May 31, 1946. He was the owner/operator of D & M Cleaners until he retired in 1987. He had attended Grace Methodist Church and was a member and past president of the Club 55 Bowling League. He was a past member of the Bedford Lions Club, Hoosier Hills Ham Club, Bedford Masonic Lodge, Hoosier Hills RC Flying Club and a computer enthusiast. Surviving are one son, John Dixon and his wife, Darla of Bedford; two daughters, Susanne Denny and her husband, Mike of Easley, SC and Janie Boenig and her husband, Chuck of Gulf Shores, AL; five grandchildren, Melissa Rodriguez, Michael Denny, Jackie Boenig, Shera and Ryan Dixon; two great grandchildren, Alaina and Anthony Rodriguez; three sisters-in-law, Irene Wood of Cicero, Ruth Alice Pogue of Florida and Mid Parkhurst of Carmel; seven nieces and nephews, Marsha Fuson, Larry Cox, Bob Wood, Jan Wood, Joan Watson, Tom Dixon and Cindy McHale. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Joanna S. Dixon and one brother, Jack L. Dixon. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, March 2nd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Pallbearers will be John Dixon, Ryan Dixon, Tom Dixon, Mike Denny, Chuck Boenig and Larry Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Denny, Bob Woods, John Adamson, Carroll Morrison, Hillard Lewis and Jed Morrison.
