Obituary of Guy E. Delphia

Bedford Guy E. Delphia, 71, of Bedford, died at 1:35 am on Monday, July 25, 2011 at Monroe Hospital in Bloomington. Born May 2, 1940 in Bedford, he was the son of Henry and Dorothy (Easton) Delphia. He married Melinda Burgess on December 31, 1987 and she survives. He was retired from the Ford Motor Co and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from June 3, 1957 to June 2, 1961 in Formosa, Japan. He enjoyed playing his banjo, guitars and was a ham radio operator. Survivors include his wife, Melinda of Bedford; three daughters, Donna LeClair and husband, Mark, Linda Watterson and husband, Joe and Marvella Hill and husband, Kelly all of Bedford; two sons, Charles Delphia and wife, Amber and Randall Delphia and wife, Becky, both of Bedford; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; several step grandchildren; one sister, Linda Clevenger of Parker City, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a brother, Andy Delphia. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Bob Dailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 27th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
