Obituary of Kathryn Deckard

Bedford Kathryn Deckard, 80, of Bedford, died at 8:20 am on Monday, April 07, 2014 at Stonebridge Health Campus in Bedford. Born November 28, 1933 in Martin Co., IN, she was the daughter of Russell A. and Georgeann (Curran) Smoot. She married Herschel Deckard on January 22, 1949 and he survives. She retired from RCA in 1987 after thirty years of service. She attended Valley Mission Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her husband, Herschel, of Martinsville; two daughters, Connie Lane and husband, Marty, of Mitchell and Bonnie Spinks and husband, Rick, of Bedford; one grandson Jeff Harrell of Bedford; one granddaughter, Kayla Lane of Mitchell; four great grandchildren; one sister, Anna Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Hanson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 800 pm on Wednesday, April 9th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
