Obituary of Glenn Deckard
Bedford Glenn Deckard, 82, 448 Maple Leaf Road in Bedford, died at 2:20 am on Monday, September 12, 2005 at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.
Born on July 19, 1923 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Otto and Flossie Deckard. He married Bernice Kinser on July 5, 1944 and she survives. He was a quarry worker for Wolrey in Bloomington and was a member of the Laborers International Union Local #741 and was an avid coon hunter.
Surviving with the wife, Bernice of Bedford, is one daughter: Brenda England and her husband, Roger of Bedford; two sons: Eugene Deckard and his wife, Linda of Bedford; Larry Deckard and his wife, Sandra of Bedford; two sisters: Juanita Bray of Bloomington and Lenora Eads of Smithville; three brothers: Richard, Leroy and Vernon Deckard all of Bloomington; seven grandchildren: Joe Deckard, Becky Tumey, Lisa Eagans, Heather Hearth, Travis Norman, Tevin Norman and Glenn-Aden Deckard; eleven great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; six step great grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Gilbert Deckard and two brothers in infancy. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, September 15th, from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Harold Godsey officiating. Burial will follow in Leatherwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 14th, and from 11:00 am on Thursday, September15th, until the hour of service at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Joe Deckard, Scott Tumey, Jeremy Tumey, Glenn-Aden Deckard, Brian Eagans, Travis Norman and Tevin Norman.
