Obituary of Cecil Alfred Day

Bedford-Cecil Alfred Day, 83, of Cambridge Square Apts. passed away at 11:20 P.M. on Sunday, May 29th at White River Lodge in Bedford. Born on June 14, 1921 in Cub Run, Hart County, Kentucky, he was the son of Lum Day and Ethel (Geralds) Day. He came to Bedford as a small child and graduated from Bedford High School in 1942. He was part owner of Day Music Store back in the 60s and 70s and was of protestant faith. As one of eight children, he was preceded in death by all of his family: parents, three brothers: Lloyd, Marvin and John Day and four sisters: Elizabeth Finn, Valeria Mason, Emma Love and Corinne Ridpath. He is survived by a sister-in-law: Jesse Day of Bedford; caregivers: Sue and Kenny Ball, Jack and Mable Day, Kenny and Margaret Day, Tom and Teresa Walls all of Bedford and his long time friend, Dr. Raymond Duncan who will be honorary pallbearer. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reminiscing about his childhood, but most of all spending time with his family and friends. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 2nd from the Elmwood Chapel of Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Mark McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Day & Carter on Wednesday, June 1st from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
