Obituary of James Marion Day

Bedford James Marion Day, 76, of Bedford, died at 7:37 pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at his residence. Born March 8, 1929 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of William Paul and Elsie (Craig) Day. He married Carolyn McGinnis on February 3, 1948 and she survives. He was self-employed and the founder of Jim Day Furniture and the AAA Convenience Store. He was a member of the John Birch Society. Surviving with his wife, Carolyn are two sons, James P. Day and his wife, Glenda, of Orange Co. and Joseph A. Day and his wife, Robin, of Bedford; two daughters, Jan A. Lewis of Ohio and Joyce L. Taylor and her husband Kyle, of Bedford; thirteen grandchildren, Andy Day, Jeff Day, Jon Day, Josh Anderson, Jennifer Anderson, Sarah Anderson, Elizabeth Day, James E. Day, Amber S. Day, Matt Lewis, Reed Taylor, Hannah Taylor and Isaac Taylor; son-in-law, Hillard Lewis; two sisters, Jewell Decker of Bedford and Paula Player of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Timothy Lewis. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 4th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 pm 9:00 pm on Friday, June 3rd and from 8:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, June 4th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
