Obituary of Carolyn Sue Day

Bedford-Carolyn Sue Day, 79, of 8860 State Road 158 Bedford died at 1:30 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at her residence. Born July 17, 1931 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of James Edward and Lola Mae (Schooley) McGinnis. She married James Marion Day on February 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death May 31, 2005. Carolyn devoted her life to her family and her home. Surviving are two sons: James P. Day and his wife Glenda of Orange County, Joseph A. Day and his wife Robin of Bedford; two daughters: Jan Lockert and her husband Dave of Toledo, OH, Joyce Taylor and her husband Kyle of Bedford; 15 grandchildren: Andy Day and his wife Jennifer, Jeff Day and his wife Jessica, Jon Day, Joshua Anderson and his wife Laura, Jennifer Inman and her husband Justin, Sarah Mathis and her husband Jason, Elizabeth Day, Amber Lutes and her husband Matt, James Edward Day, Matt Lewis, Reed Taylor, Isaac Taylor, Hannah Taylor, Emily Lockert, and David Lockert. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 57 years, James Marion Day, longtime local businessman; two sisters: Betty Robertson, and Martha Gammon; two brothers: William McGinnis, and James McGinnis; and one grandson, Timothy Lewis. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 28th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, June 27th and from 9:00 AM until the hour of service on Tuesday, June 28th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
