Obituary of Ida P. Davis
Oolitic Ida P. Davis, 88, of 405 W. 10th Street, Oolitic, died at 8:40 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Core Nursing and Rehab. Center in Bedford.
Born February 1, 1918 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Findley and Hattie (Mayo) Gyger. She married Fred A. Davis on November 7, 1934 and he survives. She was a homemaker and was employed at M. Fine & Sons and NWSC CRANE. She was a member of Gulletts Creek Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving with her husband, Fred of Oolitic is one son, Dennis L. Davis and his wife, Patty Sue of Bedford; one daughter, Patsy Lou Tincher of Indianapolis; two sisters, Loretta June Ballard of Kokomo and Mary Esther Craig and her husband, Donald K. of Needmore, IN; three grandsons, Lenny Tincher, Scott Tincher and Scott Bough; two great grandsons; several great great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Gyger. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 3rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Lewis Williams and Rev. Don Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, April 2nd and from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Monday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
