Obituary of William A. Davis

Bedford William A. Davis, Jr., 73, of Bedford, died at 9:11 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at his residence. Born June 25, 1941 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of William A. and Moneva I. (Hillenburg) Davis. He married Nancy Fox on December 23, 1966 and she survives. He retired from Otis Elevator after sixteen years. Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of Bedford; three sons, Allen Davis and wife, Sandy of Bloomington, Jason Davis and wife, Sheryl of Louisiana and Bob Davis and wife, Amy of Bedford; a daughter, Dianna Hardwick of Bedford; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Glasgow of Springville and Joyce Collins of Bedford; three brothers, Dennis Davis, Sr. of East Oolitic, Claude and Phillip Davis both of Bedford. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Arleen Thompson; a brother, Robert Davis, Sr. and a granddaughter, Tristyn Hardwick. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, August 18th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Crawford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 17th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information The family requests contributions be made to the Davis family to defray funeral expenses.
